Among the almost 500,000 ft2 of Robbins' sports surfaces were entered into the contest this year, the Saville Centre in Edmonton, Alberta took home the top prize in the Collegiate Athletics Department category.
The University of Alberta Competition floor at the Saville Center, 32,000 ft2 of Bio-Channel Classic as part of the rest of a remarkable 12,650 m2 (130,000 ft2) hardwood floor installation.
Centaur’s involvement with the facility didn’t stop there however, as Centaur also provided 36 ceiling-folding basketball backstops, 9 divider curtains and provided a full Daktronics scoreboard package complete with shot clocks, time of day clocks and scorer’s tables. A 2,500 seat telescopic seating system was also installed by Centaur as part of the Saville Centre’s Competition Gym. This facility is home of the University of Golden Bears and Pandas volleyball and basketball teams as well as the Team Ortona competitive Men’s and Women’s Artistic Gymnastics, Trampoline and Tumbling teams.

This is the third time Centaur has received this award, taking home the prize in 2009 and 2010 with the Richmond Olympic Oval and the Richmond Olympic Oval Legacy Conversion projects.
